The National Testing Agency (NTA) is coordinating the Combined
University Entrance Test (CUET) 2023 during the timeframe of the 21st to the
31st of May 2023. This exam is being held at 500+ urban communities in India
and 10 abroad. On the official website, there are practice queries for the
various subject tests and general tests (in all languages). NTA has arranged
the test in various shifts and over various days, with the goal that candidates
can be admitted to different undergraduate/integrated, postgraduate, and
research programs at centrally-funded universities. For CUET (UG) 2023, more
than 14 lakh people have registered and applied for the thousands of different
courses available across 90+ institutes in India. As of late, there have been
several modifications made to the exam scheduling and related aspects, so this
article comprises all the pertinent information about CUET 2023.
43 Central Universities, including Visva
Bharati University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi University, Banaras
Hindu University (BHU), Jamia Milia Islamia, Aligarh Muslim University, Central
University of Tamil Nadu, University of Hyderabad, Central University of
Kerala, and Central University of Punjab, among others, will accept the results
of the CUET 2023 exam. Due to logistical challenges, the Central Government has
decided to exempt Central Universities in the Northeastern States and
Uttarakhand from hosting the exam.
What is CUET?
The NTA
administers the Central University Entrance Test (CUET), a national entrance
examination for admission to UG programmes provided by all participating
universities. The University Grants Commission has modified the exam's original
full name, Central Universities Common Entrance Test, or CUCET, from last year
(UGC). Over 500 places in India and overseas host the exam once a year. For two
hours, the exam is given in a computer-based style. Initially, CUCET was
administered by UGC using a paper-and-pencil format. Since last year, NTA has
been administering the test using computers.
What's New in
CUET 2023
The modifications made in CUET 2023 are shown by the following points:
• Central University Entrance Test has replaced Central Universities
Common Entrance Test (CUCET) as the exam's name (CUET)
• There will be 13 languages used at CUET 2023.
• The CUET 2023 question bank will consist of a general test, two
domain-specific tests, and a language test that is required.
• In contrast to the 12 Central Universities that participated last
year, 53 Central Universities and Private Universities will accept CUET 2023
marks.
• The cost of the application has changed. Applicants in the PwD
category did not have to pay an application fee up until last year, but this
year they must pay the charge for candidates in the reserved category.
• 13 cities
abroad will participate in the exam's administration.
