The destinations of the City College were to open "a high class English Institution", to spread among the "more youthful age of that time" the good and exceptionally liberal strict standards of humankind. The Institution was opened with the target of teaching Indian understudies everything being equal and statements of faith on an improved and complete arrangement. Aside from the college prospectuses, understudies were given preparing in different subjects including music, science, vaulting and good science for building their character.
